Let's Talk Coffee

Let’s Talk Coffee (LTC) is Sustainable Harvest’s annual private gathering of our entire supply chain. This event is part of our reinvestment back into the supply chain and is the hallmark of the Relationship Coffee program.

At Let’s Talk Coffee, Sustainable Harvest facilitates conversations between our suppliers and customers to build trusting, transparent, and sustainable relationships. Participants discuss business needs and share best practices in order to strengthen and improve their supply chain. Let’s Talk Coffee hosts guest speakers, cupping calibrations, and expert-driven discussions to encourage both sides of the supply chain to learn about trends, current affairs, and market statistics.

Sustainable Harvest extends invitations for Let’s Talk Coffee to all our current Relationship Coffee customers and suppliers, as well as industry members, bankers, guest speakers, and potential new coffee relationships.

In addition to strengthening the relationships between our suppliers and customers through training and support, Let's Talk Coffee improves the quality of coffee production and management, which benefits all stakeholders.

Fall 2007

The 5th Annual Let’s Talk Coffee will be held in at the Fiesta Resort near the coastal town of Puntarenas, Costa Rica. Let’s Talk Coffee is Sustainable Harvest’s annual training event, which brings together our entire coffee supply chain. Participants include growers, roasters, financiers, technical experts, consumers, and other invited guests. Facilitated by Sustainable Harvest, this meeting allows industry leaders to work closely together to create a transparent trade system that creates long lasting business relationships and supply chain security.

Let’s Talk Coffee is held in a different coffee producing country every year, allowing for the company to focus and provide coffee expertise in different geographical parts of the coffee supply chain.

Spring 2007

The 4th Annual Let’s Talk Coffee was held in the colonial town of Antigua, Guatemala in March 2007. This event was originally scheduled to take place in October 2006 in Oaxaca, Mexico. However, due to the political unrest in the city of Oaxaca, the event was postponed.

The 4th Annual Let's Talk Coffee was the largest Relationship Coffee summit ever attended. Over 170 roasters, growers, industry experts, media, nonprofit, and bank representatives attended the private gathering, hosted by Sustainable Harvest.

The next Let’s Talk Coffee is being planned for October 5-8, 2007 in Costa Rica. For more information, contact Midori@sustainableharvest.com.
