Boss Mohamed Farijallah
Africa Program Agronomist
With Sustainable Harvest, Boss works within our Tanzania agronomy team to provide training and support to the 2,700 Kanyovu coffee cooperative members under the Gombe Coffee Promotion Project.
Boss graduated with a B.S. in agricultural education and extension from Sokoine University in Tanzania. He is a member of the United Nations Association of Tanzania, and speaks both Swahili and English.
Chambo Augustine
Tanzania Project Accountant
Chambo is the Tanzania Project Accountant based in Sustainable Harvest’s Moshi Office. His main duties are to track the funds, administration issues and formulating accounting policies and procedures.
Chambo graduated at St. Augustine University of Tanzania with a Advanced Diploma specializing in Accounting. He is the member of the National Board of Accounting and Auditing (NBAA). Chambo spent three years with Planetel Communication as an Internal Auditor prior to accepting a position with Sustainable Harvest. He speaks English and Kiswahili.
Carly Griggs
Program Associate, Tanzania
Carly is the Tanzania Program Assistant based in Sustainable Harvest’s Kigoma office. She is mainly involved in assisting with office administration, logistics and project implementation.
Carly graduated from Oxford University in 2008 with a B.A. in Human Sciences, a degree that encompassed everything from animal behavior and human evolution and genetics to conservation and international development. Determined to fulfill her dream of visiting Africa, in April 2009 she arrived in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania to complete a six-month internship with the Jane Goodall Institute. As of yet she has not returned to England, having spent time traveling around Tanzania and volunteering for Oxfam Great Britain before joining the Sustainable Harvest team in early 2010.
In her free time, Carly enjoys traveling, reading, eating and dancing—ballet, jive, South African gumboot dancing or just a good boogie at the disco. She speaks English and makes a pretty good attempt at Kiswahili.
Thangale Athanasi Thangale
Africa Program Chief Agronomist
Thangale joined Sustainable Harvest with extensive experience in coffee agronomy and teaching. Since 1983, he has worked in various reforestation and water conservation activities, including as the Rukwa region regional land use planning officer and the Rukwa region head of farmers' education department. He has managed both tobacco and coffee farms, and owns his own tree nursery with over 200,000 different species. With Sustainable Harvest, Thangale leads our team of three agronomists to provide training and support to the Kanyovu coffee cooperative under the Gombe Coffee Promotion Project. Thangale received dual certificates at Zomba College in Malawi in land husbandry, natural resources planning and management, and integrated conservation. He speaks Swahili and English.
Rweyemamu Philemon Rufulano
Africa Program Agronomist
Rweyemamu joined Sustainable Harvest as an agronomist to support food security projects in the coffee communities of Kigoma, Tanzania. Rweyemamu conducts trainings to teach local farmers how to implement drip irrigation systems to grow vegetables during the dry season. He is developing a network of local irrigation experts to support efficient water and land use in the region and promotoe farm diversification to improve food security.
Rweyemamu is recent graduate of the Sokoine University of Agriculture with a Bachelor of Science in agronomy. Before university, Rweyemamu was a supervisor at the Kagera Sugar Company, as well as an irrigation machine operator.
