Job Opportunities

There are currently no open positions.

Summer Fellowship Program

Sustainable Harvest's Summer Fellowship Program hosts fellows at our offices around the world--either at our headquarters in Portland, Oregon, or in our origin offices in Lima, Peru; Oaxaca, Mexico; or Kigoma and Moshi, Tanzania. Fellows receive a stipend and work alongside staff on projects related to business communications, impact measurement, development funding, and other tasks that give them a broad understanding of our mission and practices as a social enterprise and an opportunity to develop professionally.

Occidental College Fellowship Program

In 2011, Sustainable Harvest partnered with Occidental College to host three students for summer fellowships. Besides working on projects related to development, media, and communications, the Occidental fellows organized the Summer Speaker Series, which brings through leaders from around the Portland community to speak to the fellows and Sustainable Harvest staff about their career path and their organization's social impact. Lee, Tara, and Nick also had the opportunity as a part of their fellowship to attended Sustainable Harvest's annual gathering Let's Talk Coffee in El Salvador. There they met the producers, roasters, and NGOs that make up our supply chain, and experienced the Relationship Coffee Model firsthand.

Past Sustainable Harvest Fellows

Emily Finn, Development Fellow, Peru

Emily helped to identify and secure funding for Sustainable Harvest’s global farmer development programs, and defined long-term strategies for the company’s training, technology and marketing projects. She also helped plan the Food Security Solutions Forum and Let’s Talk Coffee event in 2010. Originally from Connecticut, Emily studied linguistics and neuroscience at Yale University, where she conducted research in the Language and Brain Lab.

David Short, Sustainability Metrics Fellow, Portland

During his fellowship, David developed a framework to better measure and analyze the social and environmental impact of Sustainable Harvest's business practices and those of our suppliers. David holds two Master's degrees, one in Development Studies from a University in the Netherlands, and one in International Relations from a University in Spain.

Yusing Wu, Carbon Offset Fellow, Portland

Yusing began developing carbon sequestration projects on coffee farms to help growers earn additional income from the sale of carbon credits. He designed a model that differentiated offsets in the high quality, voluntary carbon market through transparency levels similar to those in Sustainable Harvest's coffee trade model. Yusing graduated in 2009 from the Yale School of Management. He earned his B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
