In San Agustín Loxicha, the same families have grown coffee for generations. 

This region is located in the southern mountain range of Oaxaca, close to water streams connecting different communities. The Sierra Sur is an inter-ethnic region conformed of three major indigenous groups, Zapotecas, Mixtecos, and Chatinos, and two minority groups, Amuzgos and Chontales, all of whom coexist in the southern mountain range.
